- Era: Art Nouveau Period 1910's - 1920's
- Special Features : There are 53 perfectly symmetrical smooth round 4mm "Hail Mary" beads & 6 slightly larger round 5mm "Our Fathers" beads - No dents, damage or slipping beads - Perfect.
- High Quality: Rare design as each bead has been double capped to prevent slipping - allows the beads to flow effortlessly like water in the hand.
- 2-Sided Holy Medallion :One side of the Holy Medallion featuresa raised reliefbust of theSacred Flaming Heart of Jesus with a halo.The reverse side of the Holy Medallion has a raised relief right facing bust of theBlessed Virgin Mary- Stamped "STERLING" just to the left of the Virgin's halo.
- Crucifix : The Cross design is also very unique & features one letter of the "INRI" banner at each of the edges - I haven't seen one like this before - the beautiful Corpus is a separate casting - Stamped with the WOLCOTT hallmark & "STERLING" on the back.
- Crucifix Measurements : 1 1/2" Long x 7/8" Wide x Raised Corpus adds 1/8" Depth.
- Overall Measurements : 17" From center - Can be worn as a necklace with a 11 1/4" opening lariat & 5 3/4" drop.
- Total Weight : ~ 20 grams of exquisite solid 925 sterling silver.
The 1 1/2" Crucifix is marked "STERLING" with a "WM Co." maker's mark, which is the hallmark of the Wolcott Mfg. Company of Providence, Rhode Island.
The company was established 1893 and is said to have been active until 1922. I believe this Rosary dates to around 1910's to early 1920"s. The Holy Medallion is marked "STERLING" with an image of the Flaming Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
