At sale we offer an extremely rare dinner plate that was made exclusively for a "Commercial Airline Feeding" event held at the Statler Inn, at Ithaca's Cornell University. The dinner menu features French cuisine, all in the French language. Held on January 18, 1967. this dinner party may have been the only one ever held, and we cannot find any reference to any club or organization that meets the description of this gathering.Only one thing is certain: This event was held at one of the world's best hotel-restaurant schools, and we're sure that that formality was the order of the evening back in "67.
Now for the plate itself. This is a restaurant-grade Syracuse China 10.5-inch dinner plate. Glazed in high gloss jet black and off white, and gilded gold for elegance, the sole imperfection is a partial misprint of the "A" in Airline at the top of the menu. There's not a knife mark, chip, ding or fleabite.
