Measures 10.5 x 13.25\" and is in EX+ condition. It has two light scratches in the upper right and a minor lower left corner crease. From the Ray Solowinski Brynn Noring Johnson collection. Stamped on verso by with a NYC address and a 1940s postal code. Brynn was on many magazine covers in the 1940s-70s including a few LIFE magazine covers. One is also saleed here tonight. Respected,prolificfashion photographer Ray Solowinski was an associate of theiconic Richard Avedon and did magazine covers and photo shoots for a diversegroup of publicationssuch as Vogue, Life, Photoplay, McCall’s and many other magazines from his studio above Carnegie Hall in NYC.
We havealarge number of vintage fashion and entertainmentimages whichincludes photos, transparencies and negatives all original from the camera fromthe 1940s - 1960s. Ray worked with many of the most beautiful andintriguing models and actors/actress of the day including his wife actress andmodel, Brynne.
An Expansivecollectionof avant-garde,high art fashion images including nudes, bathingsuits, large series of 1950s-60s lingerie, various advertising poses. Thetransparencies, negatives are primarily 35mm, 2.25, 4 x 5 format. The printsare mostly matte finish and doubleweight, oversized, in black and whiteand color. The majority of the collection is publishedwork, and is exceptionalin quality and condition.
