1920's Egyptian revival silver bracelet old scarabs & djed enamel panels Lovely:
Rosie's EmporiumAntiques and vintage.
Shrewsbury, England.Description:This is a beautiful Egyptian revival bracelet dating to the 1920's. It is set with 8 faience scarabs spaced with enamel panels in the form of djed panels. It is indistinctly marked '800'. I think it is highly likely that the scarabs are old ones- they are fine and the marks on the back look like hieroglyphics (more recent fake scarabs have nonsense symbols); however, there is not any certification with this bracelet so I cannot be certain. The scarabs are beads and there is a silver wire running through each that attaches to the bracelet frame. It is strong and secure. This is a rare example and will be a great find for the right person. It looks fantastic worn and is comfortable to wear.Condition:Very good. There is not any damage to the scarabs or enamel sections. One link has been replaced with a piece of cotton- it is strong, but the buyer could easily add a new link if thought necessary. the clasp is not silver and may be a replacement- it works well.
