Dorothy Cullinan was born just up the road in Chiselville. She was educated in a one-room schoolhouse. She and her husband began "taking in guests". The idea worked so well that, in 1958, they started adding on, a couple of rooms at a time, to create the present Motel. The original wraparound porch has been converted into a bright, comfortable lounge, complete with fireplace and wicker furniture.
If you're coming to Vermont to ski, Bromley is just fifteen minutes from here, Stratton Mountain thirty, Okemo fifty. If not, all of southern Vermont is within easy day trip distance. The area abounds with history, scenery and shopping. We're convenient to golf courses, tennis, horseback riding, summer theatre, covered bridges, museums, swimming and picknicking. And let's not leave out great hunting and trout fishing (the famous Batten Kill is just a stone's throw away). Our nine units are tastefully furnished in Colonial Maple with twin, double or queen-sized beds (one has bunks: kids love it). All have private baths, phones, TV, refrigerators and air conditioning. Coffee is included and breakfast is available, served in a homey dining room. We also accept pets. We now offer wireless high-speed internet service. Come visit us, won't you? We're right on Historic Route 7A on the south side of the Village.
